We’re holding on to summer for as long as we can here at Didcot Town Magazine, so for this edition’s cocktail recipe, we’ve chosen a sweet and tropical tasting number to make you feel like you’re by the pool – even if it’s raining! Say hello to the Emerald, by The Old Post Office.

Ingredients

  • 25ml Sagatiba Cachaca rum
  • 25ml Abolut Vanilla vodka
  • 100ml pineapple juice
  • 12.5ml lime juice
  • 12.5ml blue curaçao
  • 12.5ml vanilla syrup

To Garnish

  • Dash Lemonade
  • Frozen pineapple bite
  • Maraschino cherry

Method

  • Shake all the ingredients together and single strain into a tall glass.
  • Top with some crushed ice and a dash of lemonade, and finally garnish with a frozen pineapple bite, a maraschino cherry, and a straw.

The Marcham Community Café Ltd, better known as the Thirsty Café was created by a group of local volunteers who shared a vision of opening an independent community coffee shop in Marcham. Since March 2020 when they were officially registered as a Community Benefits Society, the volunteers have been running a pop up café twice a week at Marcham Centre in Barrow Close.
