Cosmo Recipe From The Narrows

Ingredients:

  • 50ml citrus or lime vodka (we use Absolut citron) 25ml Cointreau or triple sec
  • 1/2 a squeezed lime
  • 50ml unsweetened cranberry juice
  • A wheel of lime
  • Granulated sugar and cranberries to garnish (or cocktail cherries if cranberries are a little hard to find!)

Method:

Step 1: Chill a Martini glass with ice and water. Spread granulated sugar on a plate over a large enough area to place a Martini glass rim side down on it.

Step 2: Add vodka, lime juice, triple sec and cranberry juice to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.

Step 3: Discard ice and water from the
Martini glass. Cut a wheel of lime and run it along the rim of the glass, for the sugar to stick to it. Turn the Martini glass upside down and rotate it in the sugar.

Step 4: With the Martini glass prepared on a countertop, strain the cocktail into the glass. (We also use a sieve to reduce any ice shards)

Step 5: Place cranberries or cocktail cherries on a cocktail stick long enough to span the glass. Dust them in sugar and place garnish across your drink to polish off your perfect Christmas tipple!

When I saw a post on Facebook promoting Scone Baking Demos with the chance to learn how to bake the most delicious scones possible, followed by the opportunity to indulge in a traditional English afternoon tea, I was intrigued and wanted to know more. What I discovered when I visit chezbeccy.com is that Beccy Hunt is a lady who has a passion for baking, and I decided it was time to have a chat with her to find out more.
