Mission Fitness UK opened in February 2013 and was created by father and daughter Graham and Hayley, both former members of the Armed Forces with a passion for health and fitness. When they left the Army, they decided that they wanted to help the local community get fitter and healthier and opened the gymnasium in Faringdon.

Although it has been a long difficult journey to get to where it is now, close relationships built over the years have ensured that Mission Fitness UK was able to come through the recent pandemic, due to the amazing support of its loyal members.

The gym has a huge variety of equipment and plenty of space to allow for all levels of ability to train in the quieter fitness studio area, use the free weights, cable machines or cardio equipment. It also has plenty of additional accessories to conduct ‘functional’ style fitness training. Hayley also runs a very popular Pilates classes every Monday 6-7pm and Wednesday 12.30-1.30pm.

The staff know every gym member by their first name and there is a wealth of experience to choose from. For instance, the Co-Owners; Graham is a biomechanics coach, specialising in ‘strength and conditioning’, strongman and strongwoman training, lower back management and GP exercise referral. Hayley is a sports massage therapist, pilates instructor and also specialises in pre and post-natal fitness. Both have planned, competed in, and trained others in a myriad of strength and endurance events over the years. You’re definitely in ‘safe-hands’ if you are looking for a personal trainer to help you achieve your personal goals and/or train for an event.

Recently, Mission Fitness UK changed to 24/7 access, in order to provide more flexibility for gym users to train at their convenience. This has been extremely popular and there has been great feedback.

So, if you are looking for a very safe and friendly family-run gym that really wants to help you on your fitness journey, then Mission Fitness UK is the local gym for you.

Experienced Coaches have said that the 13- 15 year old teams often struggle as the boys mature. Some have a change of heart and move in a different direction, some become passionate about the game. Some parents bring their lads along to try and give them a focus, a physical outlet or to give them a direction in which to find themselves. Our team has struggled with these challenges and as Coaches we have deliberately sought to develop the team with a focus on the RFU core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship (TREDS).
