Bernadine School of Dance

divider

Based at the Civic Hall in Didcot, the Bernadine School of Dance has been inspiring people to learn to dance for over thirty years. Classes are suitable for all ages from three years and upwards. They teach a range of dance subjects including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Street Dance, Contemporary, Aerial Arts and Acrobatics.

Musical Theatre classes, taught on Fridays, have recently been added to the curriculum. These classes are taught by Ross Clifton, former lead dancer who played Link Larkin in the hit West End musical tour of ‘Hairspray.’ Bringing his professional theatre expertise to the students will enable them to progress, enhancing their performance skills whilst they grow in confidence as they master new dance routines whilst singing and acting.

The Bernadine Soul School of Dance also offer extra performance opportunities as well as their annual show case in which all students are included as they share their talent and get to enjoy the feeling of performing on stage. Selected students are currently working very hard on new routines to perform at Alton Towers at the end of May and A Chance to Dance at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre in July.

A team of the school’s students are also really excited as they have been invited for the second time to perform on the prestigious MSC cruise line. Rehearsals will soon be underway at the Didcot School to ensure they are ready to put on a really professional show later in the year. The group will fly to Barcelona in October and will embark on ‘MSC Seaview’ to perform their show to an international audience for 7 nights.

Together with her mother Bernadine who is Principal, her daughter Vice Principal Natalie Soul is extremely proud of her performing arts students. “We are very excited and are looking forward to performing; students included in this opportunity range from 7-18 years old. At the Bernadine School of Dance, we always strive to offer the best training in all subjects in a happy and positive environment with teachers who share the same passion and who love imparting their knowledge from within the professional industry.
