Every year, Cornerstone Arts puts together an incredible collection of entertainment, bringing local and national talent to the venue. Artists such as ‘Bill Bailey: Work in Progress’, ‘Comedy Special: Ed Byrne & Comedians TBA!’ and ‘Rich Hall: Chin Music’ who are all booked to appear this autumn are fully booked! There are many other entertainers and events however for you to enjoy so don’t miss out and see what appeals to you. Just a few highlights are:
Friday 7 November: The Dreaming Spires
Acclaimed Oxfordshire five-piece The Dreaming Spires mark their eagerly awaited return with a special hometown show following the release of their new album, Normal Town, on Clubhouse Records.
The album was inspired by coverage of a 2017 study which concluded that Didcot was ‘the most normal town in England’. The record explores themes of home, nostalgia, alienation and the beauty of everyday life, blending 60s rock ‘n’ roll influences with chamber pop accents, underpinned by a subtle layer of political commentary.
‘’...power-pop hooks and sweet harmonies’’
8/10 UNCUT
Opening the show, which starts at 7.30pm, will be poet and artist Shaun Belcher, reading from his ‘Thames Valley Texas’ poetry collection – all about subjects within 5 miles of Cornerstone! WOOD HQ is the organisation behind the acclaimed Wood Festival, sister event Septembersong, and one-off ‘Happenings’ such as this one. One not to miss!

Friday 21 November: Alfie Moore: Acopalypse Now
Time to spend an evening of comedic enjoyment with curtain up at 7.30pm.
The Four Horsemen of Rising Crime, Global Warming, AI and Culture Wars are galloping towards us. Are we on the road to hell? And can we avoid the potholes? In his brand new tour show ‘Fair Cop’ Alfie has the antidote to the breakdown of law and order, fake news and the price of baked beans.
He’s encountered more than his fair share of egotistical dictators in his policing career and learnt when pragmatism, and more than a dash of laughter, can defuse even the most menacing showdown. Join Alfie as he’s saddles up to see off those bullies on their pesky ponies. Doomsday is no laughing matter, but this show certainly is.
