The muchloved Faringdon Writers Book Fair returns to the Corn Exchange, Faringdon, on Saturday 21st November, 10am–3pm, bringing with it a vibrant celebration of local creativity and a festive atmosphere to kick off the winter season.
Now firmly established as one of the town’s popular cultural events, the Book Fair continues to grow year on year - both in visitor numbers and in the breadth of talent on display. This year, 24 authors, poets, and writers from across the area will be gathering under one roof, ready to greet visitors, chat about their work, and share the stories behind their books.
The event offers a rare opportunity to meet independent writers facetoface, discover new voices, and pick up original, meaningful gifts for friends and family. With genres ranging from children’s fiction, general fiction and poetry to memoir, fantasy, and local history, there is truly something to tempt every reader in the family.
Visitors can also enjoy refreshments throughout the day, and at 2pm the eagerly awaited results of the Faringdon Writers Short Story Competition will be announced and certificates awarded – a highlight that draws both entrants and supporters from the wider community.
Admission is free, and the organisers encourage everyone – from seasoned book lovers to curious newcomers - to pop in, browse, and soak up the warm, welcoming atmosphere that has become the hallmark of this annual event.
The Faringdon Writers Book Fair is proudly dedicated to celebrating the independent sector of authors, poets, and writers, championing creativity at a grassroots level and strengthening the town’s reputation as a thriving hub for the arts.
