The Beacon in Wantage is an arts and community centre based in the centre of the town that has a programme packed full of arts, classes, community activities and more. If you’re looking for somewhere with a great range of things to do, then look no further.

The Beacon has a variety of live performances from comedy to family shows and music acts, plus regular cinema screenings, open mic nights and is an affordable venue for hire for community activities.

There’s something for everyone at The Beacon from dance to martial arts, choirs, yoga, Pilates and workshops and classes for children too.

There’s a range of rooms available for hire, in a variety of sizes to accommodate all kinds of events, with prices starting from £13 an hour. The Beacon also offers a children’s bouncy castle party package for children aged 8 and under from £165 – you book the date, and we’ll do the work.

"The customer service is above and beyond; they literally couldn’t do any more for me as a regular hirer. The staff both behind the scenes, on the front desk and in the cafe are all friendly and helpful, making my weekly visits a pleasure (often indulging in a coffee and cake before or after too). The facilities are modern and clean, and I love having the Beacon as one of my venues. A* facility and venue!" – Lee-Anne, Music Bugs Oxford

"The staff at The Beacon are friendly and professional at all times and I am very happy indeed with this venue." – Jennifer, Over 60s Exercise Class

The venue is also a designated ‘Safe Space’ and hosts The Wantage Community Larder on Friday afternoons.
