On June 6-7 Wantage Tennis Club holds its annual Open Weekend. Everyone is invited to visit to find out more about the facilities, membership options and the Pay and Play Public Courts. There will be opportunities to try out the courts for free and new joiners on the day will qualify for 25% off standard membership for 2026-7. Committee Members will be on hand to answer questions, and refreshments will be on offer. Free coaching with AA Tennis will be available on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.
To join Wantage Tennis Club visit clubspark.lta.org.uk/WantageLawnTennisClub and click on the MEMBERSHIP tab. Scroll down to select the appropriate membership and click on JOIN NOW. Membership includes social and match practice sessions, with balls supplied free of charge, as well as free online court booking to organise your own play, free floodlights for evening play and the facilities of an excellent Clubhouse. There are opportunities for all, all year round, to enjoy social play and match play.
The Open Weekend coincides with the AATennis Festival of Tennis. At the start of June WLTC Coach Andy Aitken and AATennis will be visiting local Primary Schools, introducing around 1500 children into tennis. This culminates in the weekend Festival of Tennis at the Club with free coaching sessions for all those youngsters who have participated during the week.
