The Mix are proud to provide a map of information on where items can be repaired or passed on to be reused or recycled – thanks to a grant from the Wantage Town Council. Find out where to get things fixed, sell, or donate unwanted items, buy second-hand, and refill in Wantage and the surrounding area.
This search tool is in addition to local council recycling, which you can find here: Vale-of-white-horse-district-council/recycling-rubbish-and-waste.
Using the map will help people to cut down waste, save money and also support local businesses and charities. It covers items ranging from duvets, shoes and washing machines to pre-loved jewellery, wedding dresses and furniture. Jo Harvey from The Mix says: “Everyone is aware that we need to conserve the Earth’s fragile resources and to cut down on waste and carbon emissions. One of the best ways we can do this is by keeping things in the system – buying second-hand, fixing things where we can and disposing of unwanted possessions in a way that extends their life by being upcycled, repaired, and reused.”
You can see the printed map here:
or download your own copy to print as home by visiting this link: bit.ly/3WfNVam
Paper copies of the map can be collected from The Mix, 15 Mill Street, Wantage and stickers will also be displayed in the windows of participating local shops and businesses.
Working with local organisations we can all help Wantage and Grove become a more sustainable, environmentally friendly community.
