Taking part in drama classes run by a well-known and innovative performing arts organisation can offer anyone over the age of sixteen more skills than just learning to act. Buttercross Theatre Productions, an innovative performing arts organisation based in Witney have been bringing a range of incredible performances to the stage at the Corn Exchange for many years, developing the talents of local people from acting to dance and musical theatre.

If you have a theatrical talent you would like to develop but do not know how to begin the Buttercross Theatre Production could provide just what you are looking for. In their fun-filled sessions, you could be working on perfecting your performance skills and technique, or even work on technical 'behind-the-scenes' aspects of performing arts, such as designing costumes, props, programmes or scripts! They offer a wide range of professional performing arts workshops for both adults and young people, run and taught by their own skilled team of industry professionals in Theatre, Film, Dance and Vocal Performance Training. All of their performing arts workshops are run in a relaxed and attentive environment.

Not only will the workshops enable you to make new friends who all share an interest in the performing arts arena, but you will be able to boost your self-confidence, self-esteem, develop your hidden talents and let your own personal creativity run riot! You will be able to find your voice through their fun-filled sessions. You'll be given the opportunity to develop life skills such as communication, problem solving, perseverance, teamwork and accountability - which is great for your CV. Many students have formed life-long friendships and often meet socially. They have described Buttercross Theatre Productions as an extended family.

Their classes include working on improvisation, scripts of different genres, writing mini scripts/sketches, performance and acting for the screen techniques and skills. They also offer the opportunity to work towards Trinity College Acting for Screen Qualifications and for UCAS points, if you are looking to go to University.

Class activities will enable you to develop and enhance your:

  • Creativity
  • Performance and presentation skills
  • Verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Confidence
  • Critical thinking
  • Metacognition
