If you’ve ever seen Abingdon musician and singer Laurance Williams perform, you know just how much fun his shows are, and will be delighted to know that he has lined up some performances in and around Abingdon for this June and July.
Laurence will be performing his solo ‘One Man Band’ shows where he will sing whilst playing a keyboard live with backings he has recorded in his studio where he plays drums, bass, and guitar. His repertoire is diverse with something for all ages from old school Motown and Disco all the way through to Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran classis. Amongst the classics he performs, you will also be able to enjoy some of his own songs including the popular ‘Calm’ created by his original band ‘Port In A Storm’ and his solo ‘Dance Your Stress Away’ which he released during lockdown.
If you would like to be part of the ‘One Man Band’ performances, Laurence is appearing at the Friends of Drayton School Association Fete on Saturday 10 June at 6pm in Drayton Village Hall. He will be at the King’s Head and Bell in Abingdon on the 1 July at 9pm, Abingdon’s Spreadeagle on Sunday 16 July at 2pm and The Bay Tree in Grove on Friday 21 July at 9.30 pm.
Laurence is also part of local band ‘Free 4 All’ who are appearing at 8pm the Loose Cannon Brewery Music Festival on Friday 7 July. Laurence will be on vocals and keyboards, Amy Jordan accompanying on vocals, Clive Townsend on guitar and Derek Williams on drums. The band also play a range of music but with the addition of Amy’s voice, they can cover songs by Beyonce and Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin and even Dua Lipa too.
