Information Centre

If you haven’t been into the Faringdon Information Centre, it may be worth popping in as they provide a lot more than local tourist information.

Located in the beautifully renovated Pump House at 5 Marketplace in the centre of Faringdon, you will be greeted by their friendly staff who will be delighted to answer any questions you may have about the town and surrounding area. The Information Centre is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am until 1pm on Saturdays (term time only). They are closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The team who run the Centre are also the reception for Faringdon Town Council whose offices are also located in the Pump House. Faringdon Museum and the Lord Berners Exhibition can also be found within the building. The Pump House is also the venue for the Reception to Faringdon’s Food Bank on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning from 10 am until 12 noon. You can also access the free Citizens Advice drop-in sessions on a Wednesday morning from 10 am until 12 noon.

Not only can you buy tickets for films being shown at the nearby Regent Cinema from the Information Centre, but you can obtain your Faringdon Community Bus tickets and various bus timetables. They also sell tickets for community events such as the Faringdon Fireworks.

As Christmas approaches, the Centre sells a huge range of Charity Christmas cards from Cards for Good Causes, and they host the Scout Christmas card post box during November and December. The Information Centre is also a great place to look for gifts as they stock items made by local Artists including gifts, cards, and prints. You can also buy maps, souvenirs, and local books.

For anyone who has just moved into Faringdon, you can get hold of a welcome pack for residents which will give you all the information you need to know about living in the town or surrounding area. You are also most welcome just to pop in for a chat and say hello to the team who run the Centre.

For further information, visit Facebook, email tic@faringdontowncouncil.gov.uk or give them a call on 01367 240281.
