If you like to write and want to write, then why not join the members of the Faringdon Writers group.
This group has been running since 2014 as a means of providing space and time for the people of Faringdon and the surrounding area, who love to write, and wish to share that passion with other like-minded people. Members get the chance to chat and share their work with constructive feedback and friendly support. There are also mini-workshops on aspects of writing and even visiting speakers who come along to help with issues such as genre focus, editing, publishing, and marketing.
Members are a friendly and diverse bunch. Some are published authors of a range of texts including poetry, fiction, and non-fiction, whilst others are fairly new to writing and come along to learn more and share skills and expertise. To give some kind of purpose to and an outlet for pieces written, an annual anthology is published by the group entitled Voices from Faringdon and Anthology Volume 10 is now available to purchase from Faringdon Tourist Information Office (£6.50) or from Amazon.
The group meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm in the Faringdon Business Centre in Volunteer Way, which has accessible parking. Meetings are free and there is even a cup of tea or coffee thrown in.
If you are interested in joining the group or any of the above there is a dedicated Facebook page – Faringdon Writers or please contact Val Hughes at faringdonwriters@gmail.com to find out more.
